We have information on the Virago XV and V Star 250 as well as general motorcycle knowledge.

The History of Yamaha’s Virago XV

Yamaha began production on the Virago in 1981 as their first V twin cruiser style motorcycle. The gained popularity so fast, they had the legendary Harley-Davidson company nervous.

The first Virago on the market had a 750 cc engine, before Yamaha added the 500 cc and 920 cc models in later years.

The early success of the cruising Virago forced US based motorcycle brands to encourage tariffs on imported motorcycles with engines greater than 700 cc.

Yamaha stuck with it and went on continuing to build the Virago model and eventually changed the name to the V Star.

Today, the Virago XV250 is known as the V Star 250.

The goal for this website

I hope to be a source of reliable information when it comes to the Yamaha Virago and V Star line up. We are owners of these fantastic motorcycles and want to see them on the road for a long time.

Whether you are a new rider or a experienced one, we hope you find something you can relate to and learn as we grow.

The Virago is a wonderful platform right out of the gate. If you have built a customized version, we would love to see it and post it on our site. We would love to hear how you went about it and what your inspiration was.
